Christmas Paper Star Ornaments
These folded stars look beautiful on the tree, strung into garlands or hung in windows to catch the summer evening light.
What you need
- Square paper, 10 x 10 cm
- Scissors
- String or ribbon
- Glue stick
Steps
- Fold the square in half diagonally both ways and unfold.
- Cut from each corner about two-thirds of the way toward the centre.
- Fold every other point into the centre and glue down.
- Repeat on the back to make the star three-dimensional.
- Thread string through the top point and hang.
Tip: Use metallic or patterned paper for extra festive sparkle.
Easter Egg Collage
A mess-free Easter activity for younger children. Each egg becomes a tiny work of art using paper scraps and stickers.
What you need
- Cardboard egg shapes or paper egg templates
- Coloured paper scraps
- Glue stick
- Stickers, crayons or markers
Steps
- Cut large egg shapes from cardboard or print a template.
- Tear or cut paper scraps into small pieces.
- Cover the egg shape with glue and press the scraps on top.
- Add details with stickers or drawings.
- Display the eggs on a string across a window or wall.
Tip: Laminate the finished eggs so they can be reused next year.
Halloween Paper Lanterns
Safe, battery-powered lanterns that glow on a Halloween table or front porch. Kids can draw their own spooky faces.
What you need
- Coloured A4 paper
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Battery-operated tea lights
Steps
- Fold a sheet of A4 paper in half lengthways.
- Cut slits from the folded edge toward the open edge, stopping about 2 cm short.
- Unfold and roll the paper into a cylinder, gluing the short edges together.
- Cut eyes and a mouth from black paper and glue them on.
- Place a battery tea light inside.
Tip: Orange and purple paper look best for a classic Halloween palette.
